Student travel grants for conferences
HiPEAC wants to stimulate attendance of European PhD students at international conferences which are held in Europe. The HiPEAC steering committee decides on the list of conferences. It will only consider major international conferences which are occasionally held in Europe, and which are related to the HiPEAC research area. The current list of conferences is CGO 2011 and SOSP 2011.
All PhD students listed at the HiPEAC website (http://www.hipeac.net/dmemberslist) are eligible. If you are not listed there, you have to talk to your advisor and ask him or her to add you as PhD-student at the website.
Students are not required to have an accepted paper in the conference or in one of the co-located events to be eligible. However, if there are more requests than the budget allows, priority will be given to PhD students with a presentation in the conference or in one of the co-located events.
The grant can cover student registration fees, and travel and subsistence costs within a reasonable amount. Again, if there are more requests than the budget allows, we can decide to only cover part of these expenses.
We assume that if you apply, you have talked about your application for a travel grant with your advisor, and that you have obtained permission to attend the conference.
In order to apply, simply fill in a request at http://www.hipeac.net/node/add/conftravelgrants.
Application deadlines:
CGO 2011: February 21, 2011
SOSP 2011: TBD
